SEREMBAN, 22 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has continued distributing one-off financial assistance of RM1,000 to taxi, hire car and school bus drivers in Negeri Sembilan to help ease financial pressures and vehicle maintenance costs.

The programme, held at Dewan Bandaraya Seremban on Thursday (22 October), was officiated by Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook as part of the MADANI Government’s financial assistance initiative.

The special assistance is funded through proceeds from the sale of the ‘H’ series special vehicle registration numbers, which generated RM91.2 million.

According to MOT, the early distribution allows eligible drivers, particularly those celebrating Deepavali, to receive financial support ahead of the festive occasion.

Drivers who have not yet received the assistance may still qualify by ensuring their Driver’s Card and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) vocational licence remain valid.

Those requiring renewal must complete the process online through the Land Public Transport Agency’s (APAD) iSPKP system by 25 October 2026.

The ministry confirmed that assistance payments will continue to be distributed in phases nationwide, including Sabah and Sarawak.

The initiative is intended to recognise the contributions of taxi, hire car and school bus drivers while providing financial support for their daily operations and vehicle upkeep.

MOT also highlighted the importance of supporting land transport workers who provide essential mobility services to communities across Malaysia.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, the programme reflects the government’s commitment to driver welfare under the well-being and compassion principles of the Malaysia MADANI framework – The Capital Post
