KUALA LUMPUR, 20May 2026 (The Capital Post) — The National Skills Development Council (MPKK) Meeting No. 1 for 2026 was held on 19 May 2026 and chaired by Deputy Human Resources Minister Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan in his capacity as MPKK Chairman.
The meeting focused on the approval of four new National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS) involving the fields of Cyber Security and Malaysian Sign Language (BIM), in line with future industry demands and the country’s human capital development agenda.
Also presented during the meeting were three information papers covering the achievements of the Malaysian Skills Certification System (SPKM), SPKM inspection and enforcement activities, as well as the progress of the 2021-2025 Skilled Human Capital Development Blueprint.
According to the ministry, MPKK expressed confidence that under the leadership and direction of Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, who was entrusted by Human Resources Minister Ramanan Ramakrishna, the council will continue strengthening the national skills ecosystem while enhancing the quality and credibility of the Malaysian Skills Certification System.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment towards producing a highly skilled workforce through the continued empowerment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in driving national growth and competency development.
