PUTRAJAYA 29 April 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that users of the MyJPJ application will be required to log in using MyDigital ID beginning May 1 as part of the government’s broader digital transformation initiative.

JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the implementation is aimed at strengthening cybersecurity measures while improving the efficiency and reliability of online public services. The move will make MyDigital ID the primary authentication method for accessing the MyJPJ platform.

Under the updated system, users will no longer need multiple login credentials, with authorities stating that the single sign-on approach is expected to reduce risks associated with identity theft and data breaches.

The MyJPJ application currently offers various digital services including driving licence renewal, vehicle road tax renewal, summons checks and other transport-related transactions. JPJ revealed that the platform has already surpassed 14 million registered users nationwide.

The latest version of the application will also introduce several additional features, including guest access mode, a 24-hour smart chatbot service, and integration of JPJeBid and JPJeQ services within a unified platform.

Authorities are encouraging Malaysians aged 12 and above to complete MyDigital ID registration and activation ahead of the full enforcement date to avoid disruptions when accessing the application. Permanent residents holding MyPR status will still be allowed to use alternative login methods through designated access channels.

The transition forms part of Malaysia’s wider effort to modernise government digital services and strengthen online identity verification systems across multiple public sector platforms. -The Capital Post
