PUTRAJAYA, 25 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The National Pharmacy Convention 2026 was officially opened by Health Director-General of the Ministry of Health (MOH), YBhg. Datuk Dr. Mahathar bin Abd. Wahab, at Hotel Marriott, Putrajaya today.
Organised annually by the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS), the three-day convention from 24 to 26 July 2026 brings together pharmacists, healthcare professionals, policymakers, academics, researchers and industry partners from across the country.
Carrying the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacy”, the convention highlights the important role of pharmacists in strengthening the healthcare system through the provision of safe and quality medicines, while supporting better health outcomes for the people.
The convention also emphasised the importance of close collaboration between pharmacists, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing integrated and patient-centred healthcare services.
Pharmacists continue to play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, empowering patient education, driving innovation and improving the quality of healthcare service delivery.

The Ministry of Health remains committed to strengthening the pharmacy profession through strategic cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure quality, safe and patient-focused healthcare services for the well-being of Malaysians.
Also present were YBrs. Honorary Professor Amrahi Buang, President of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, and YBrs. Encik Mohd Zawawi bin Abdullah, Director of the Pharmacy Enforcement Division, MOH.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA, the convention serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration among healthcare professionals while highlighting the contribution of pharmacists in supporting a more effective healthcare system. – The Capital Post
