New infections exceeds 20,000 mark again

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 cases breached the 20,000 mark again, with 21,468 infections reported as of noon today.


This was shared by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a social media post today.

In the Klang Valley – Selangor and Kuala Lumpur – which logged 7,449 and 2,183 new cases respectively made up almost 50 per cent of the total cases.

Cases in Kedah, Sabah, Johor, and Penang remained high with four-digit cases being registered.


Kedah recorded 1,807 new infections, Sabah (1,654), Johor (1,485) and Penang (1,316).

This was followed by Kelantan at 1,088 cases, Negri Sembilan (974), Perak (940), Melaka (723), Sarawak (715), Pahang (572), Terengganu (440), Putrajaya (66), Perlis (66) and Labuan (six).-NST
