NRES Strengthens Collaboration with Melaka for HASN 2026

MELAKA, 16 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has paid a courtesy visit to the Melaka state government in conjunction with preparations for the National Environment Day (Hari Alam Sekitar Negara, HASN) 2026.

The delegation, led by Environmental Management Division Secretary Dr. Pubadi a/l Govindasamy, met with Melaka State Deputy Secretary (Management) Datuk Maslina Baki at the Hang Jebat Meeting Room, Seri Negeri Complex.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), the visit aimed to discuss strategic cooperation for the organisation of HASN 2026 at the national level, with Melaka selected as the host state.

The delegation also included Strategic Communications Director of the Department of Environment (JAS), Nor Aziah Jaafar, and Melaka Department of Environment Director Rosli Mustafa.

As part of the visit, Dr. Pubadi also conducted a working visit to the Melaka Department of Environment office to engage with staff and discuss logistical readiness and state-level commitments ahead of the national celebration.

The ministry said close cooperation between the federal and state governments is crucial to ensuring HASN 2026 is successfully implemented and creates strong public awareness on environmental conservation.
