NRES strengthens strategic focus on natural resources sector briefing

Putrajaya, 24 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – A briefing session on the natural resources sector was held with the Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), YBrs. Tuan Khalid bin Mohamed.

According to information from the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam (NRES), the session served as an important platform to strengthen understanding of the functions, roles, strategic direction, and key initiatives under the natural resources sector.

The briefing covered key areas including biodiversity, forestry, geoscience, minerals, and geospatial management. It also discussed the current status of programme implementation, existing challenges, and priority areas that require attention to ensure Malaysia’s natural resources are managed in a sustainable and resilient manner.
