PUTRAJAYA, 9 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable development through closer collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Malaysia.
According to a Facebook post by NRES, the ministry’s Secretary-General, Datuk Wira Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin, received a courtesy visit from a UNDP Malaysia delegation led by Resident Representative Edward Vrkić during a strategic discussion session held at the ministry.
The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing cooperation between NRES and UNDP Malaysia, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability, climate change, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
The session also served as a platform for both parties to exchange views on current developments and explore new areas of collaboration that could support Malaysia’s green development agenda, in line with national efforts to strengthen climate resilience and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NRES said the continued partnership with UNDP Malaysia is expected to further drive initiatives aimed at building a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future while supporting the well-being of present and future generations.
Also present at the meeting were NRES Deputy Secretary-General (Natural Resources) Datuk Mas Rizal Mohd Hilmi, ministry officials and members of the UNDP delegation. – The Capital Post.
