KOTA GELANGGI, 21 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Works to rebuild dilapidated facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan (Felda) Kota Gelanggi 1, Jerantut, Pahang, have been completed 310 days ahead of schedule.
The project was handed over during a ceremony attended by Minister of Works YB Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi at the school on 20 August 2026.
The project, implemented under the Pahang 2023 Dilapidated Schools Completion Project, aims to provide safer, more comfortable and conducive educational facilities for students and school staff.
The project had an original contract value of RM7,759,613.00, while the current contract value stands at RM7,998,007.26.
Works began on 13 January 2025 and were originally scheduled for completion on 2 May 2027. However, the main contractor, Zalwan Engineering Sdn. Bhd., completed the project on 26 June 2026, 310 days ahead of the original completion date.

The early completion allows students, teachers and school staff to benefit from the improved facilities sooner, while providing a safer and more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Director-General of Public Works (Buildings Sector), the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education (KPM), as well as senior officials from KPM, the Ministry of Works (KKR) and the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia.
KKR, through JKR Malaysia, said it remains committed to delivering quality public infrastructure projects, particularly educational facilities, with emphasis on quality, safety, compliance with specifications and timely completion.
