Teen nabbed for threatening girlfriend over break-up

KUALA LUMPUR: A mechanic has been arrested after threatening his former lover with a knife for wanting to end their relationship.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident occurred at around noon on Monday at the suspect’s home at Taman Ukay Bistari.

“The 17-year-old girl had gone to the suspects home and he then demanded RM700, which was the amount he spent on her during the course of their relationship.

“The suspect got violent and shoved the victim before brandishing two knives,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 24).

He said the suspect also threatened to kill the girl for wanting to break up with him.

“The suspect also grabbed her mobile phone and smashed it on the floor.

“We arrested the 19-year-old suspect at around 8.30pm on Aug 23 and seized a baton, two knives and a mobile phone,” he said, adding that the suspect would be remanded to assist in further investigations.

He also said that the case has been classified as criminal intimidation.-The Star
