Works Ministry Strengthens Innovation Culture Through 2026 Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) reinforced its commitment to fostering innovation and creativity in public service delivery through the KKR and Agencies Innovation Day 2026, held on Thursday (8 October).

The programme brought together ministry personnel, invited guests and heads of departments and agencies to encourage fresh ideas, creative thinking and innovative approaches to improving organisational performance.

The event began with an innovation talk, followed by the arrival of the ministry’s senior leadership, including Works Minister Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Maslan.

Also present were KKR Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Zainal Alhakab Seman and Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Management) Datuk Dr. Khairus Masnan Abdul Khalid.

Alexander officiated the event, which also featured multimedia and choir performances before proceeding to the presentation of innovation awards at the ministry, department and agency levels.

The ceremony also included the Works Minister’s Special Award, recognising innovation efforts within the ministry and its agencies.

Following the award presentations, guests visited an innovation exhibition showcasing creative ideas, projects and initiatives developed by KKR personnel and its agencies.

The event highlighted the importance of innovation not only in introducing new ideas but also in delivering meaningful improvements that benefit organisations and the public.
