PETALING JAYA, 23 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — PJ Sejahtera has welcomed the disclosure of key documents related to the controversial Petaling Jaya Dispersal (PJD) Link project following a legal effort by several Petaling Jaya residents.
In a statement released on Friday, PJ Sejahtera congratulated T Chakaravarthi, Kum Koo Ji, S. Saktiseelan and Loke Yin Pong, represented by lawyer Lim Wei Jiet, for successfully obtaining important project documents, including the Social Impact Assessment (SIA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA), as well as the project’s detailed design and alignment plans.
The group noted that the Selangor government complied with a Kuala Lumpur High Court order more than a year after being directed to hand over the documents submitted by PJD Link (M) Sdn. Bhd.
PJ Sejahtera described the development as an important step for the people of Petaling Jaya, stressing that transparency surrounding the planning and implementation of the project has remained one of the public’s key concerns.
Pro-tem Chairman Tunku Johan Mansur said traffic congestion continues to be among the most pressing issues affecting residents in Petaling Jaya, adding that traffic planning should not be handled solely by developers or local councils.
He also highlighted concerns over the long-standing practice of allowing project developers to commission and fund studies meant to assess the impacts of their own developments, saying such arrangements may create a conflict of interest and weaken public confidence in the findings.

The organisation also acknowledged the efforts of Petaling Jaya residents who participated in town halls, public discussions and protests to ensure community concerns were heard. PJ Sejahtera said public persistence played a major role in bringing attention to the matter.
Moving forward, the group urged the Selangor government and relevant federal authorities to establish more meaningful and proactive community engagement for future development projects to ensure residents can access important information without having to resort to judicial reviews.
According to the statement, future discussions on development planning should consider broader evidence-based factors, including local connectivity, traffic distribution, emergency access, environmental sustainability and community impact.
PJ Sejahtera reaffirmed its commitment to constructive, non-partisan and evidence-based engagement in advocating for a sustainable, liveable and well-connected Petaling Jaya. – The Capital Post
