Plantation Ministry, PETRONAS Dagangan Explore High-Impact Partnerships

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) is strengthening collaboration with PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad to support the development of Malaysia’s agricommodity sector through sustainability initiatives and expanded market access opportunities.

Plantation and Commodities Minister YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad received a courtesy visit from PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad’s senior management team to discuss potential high-impact collaborations that could benefit industry players and entrepreneurs.

According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Perladangan dan Komoditi, the meeting was attended by PETRONAS Dagangan Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Azrul Osman Rani and focused on several strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the agricommodity sector.

Among the key areas discussed was the strengthening of sustainability efforts through the Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Collection Programme, which supports environmental objectives while promoting responsible resource management.

The discussions also explored opportunities to expand market access for agricommodity-based micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enabling local entrepreneurs to reach a broader consumer base.

KPK highlighted the potential of PETRONAS’ Kedai Mesra retail network as a strategic platform for introducing and marketing high-quality local agricommodity products to consumers nationwide.

The ministry said cross-sector collaborations such as this are expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs and contribute to the sustainable growth of Malaysia’s agricommodity industry.
