PETALING JAYA, 17 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Health Minister Datuk Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib today conducted an official visit to the Pharmacy Services Programme (PPF) of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Upon arrival, Hanifah was welcomed by Deputy Director-General of Health (Pharmaceutical Services) Dr. Azuana Ramli, before being briefed on the programme’s roles, functions and operations in supporting Malaysia’s healthcare system.
According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, the Pharmacy Services Programme is one of the ministry’s key pillars responsible for ensuring the public has access to quality, safe and effective medicines that comply with comprehensive regulatory standards through assessments and monitoring carried out by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).
The programme also plays a crucial role in ensuring a consistent supply of medicines and pharmaceutical products across MOH healthcare facilities, while protecting consumers from illegal medicines through ongoing enforcement activities.
In addition, the programme continues to spearhead the development of pharmaceutical policies and governance frameworks aimed at improving the quality and effectiveness of the national healthcare system.

Following the briefing session, Hanifah toured the facilities at the Pharmacy Services Programme headquarters and engaged with pharmacy personnel.
Also present were National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency director Wan Noraimi Wan Ibrahim, deputy division directors and senior officials from the Pharmacy Services Programme.
MOH reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the nation’s pharmacy services through enhanced governance, innovation and human capital development to ensure Malaysians continue to receive quality, safe and sustainable healthcare services. – The Capital Post
