Johor Bahru, 27 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Two secondary schools in Johor Bahru have received support under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI Programme as part of efforts to strengthen strategic collaboration between the government, government-linked companies (GLCs), the private sector and local communities in enhancing the quality of education.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, Deputy Education Minister YB Wong Kah Woh officiated the presentation of replica cheques under the programme to SMK Taman Pelangi and SMK Sri Tebrau.
In his speech, Wong commended SMK Taman Pelangi for its outstanding achievements, including improved 2025 SPM results, two consecutive years of excellent financial audit performance, the implementation of sustainable school initiatives through the use of solar energy, and excellence in STEM and robotics education.
He said the school’s achievements demonstrate how strong governance, a culture of excellence and innovation can produce high-performing educational institutions.

Under Phase One of the Sekolah Angkat MADANI Programme, a total of RM1.025 million has been channelled to 15 schools across Johor through collaboration involving various ministries, government agencies and industry partners.
The ministry said the initiative highlights the shared responsibility of government and stakeholders in nurturing students’ potential while strengthening the national education ecosystem.
