Defence Ministry Reviews Hyrax Oil’s Role In Strengthening Strategic Supply Chain

KLANG, SELANGOR, 15 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Ministry of Defence Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim bin Ali today conducted a working visit to Hyrax Oil Sdn. Bhd. in Klang to assess the capabilities of the local industry in supporting national defence readiness through the strengthening of strategic supply chains.

The visit included a corporate briefing, a tour of the company’s laboratory and an inspection of its manufacturing facilities.

Hyrax Oil Sdn. Bhd., a growing Malaysian company in the lubricant industry, has developed expertise in producing high-performance lubricants and has expanded into international markets in more than 40 countries.

The capability is significant as the lubricant industry plays an important role in ensuring defence assets remain operational and maintain optimal levels of readiness.

In line with the aspirations of the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN), the Ministry of Defence remains committed to strengthening local industry participation in developing a more resilient, high-technology and sustainable defence ecosystem.

Strategic cooperation between the Government and industry will continue to be strengthened to ensure Malaysia develops industrial capabilities that can support the country’s defence requirements more comprehensively and competitively.
