KUALA LUMPUR, 30 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Works Ministry (KKR) has strengthened engagement with the Public Works Department’s (JKR) specialist sector to reinforce technical and professional expertise in national infrastructure development.
KKR Secretary-General Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim conducted a strategic visit to JKR Malaysia’s Specialist Sector on Wednesday, involving the Architectural Branch and the Contract and Quantity Surveying Branch at JKR headquarters.
The visit provided a platform to strengthen working relationships, deepen understanding of the specialist sector’s roles and functions, and review current developments in JKR’s technical and professional fields.
During the session, Azman received briefings and presentations on the roles and ongoing initiatives of the Architectural Branch and the Contract and Quantity Surveying Branch.

Also present were Deputy Director-General of Public Works (Specialist Sector) Dato’ Ar. IDr. Azman bin Md. Hashim; JKR Malaysia Architectural Branch Senior Director Ar. Hjh. Sharina Intan binti Abdullah; Contract and Quantity Surveying Branch Senior Director Sr. Rogayah binti Yunus; as well as senior officials from KKR and JKR Malaysia.
The ministry said the engagement reflects continued efforts to strengthen technical and professional capabilities while ensuring the planning and implementation of national infrastructure projects meet quality, resilience and current development requirements.
