PENANG, 19 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Package 1 of the traffic dispersal project between the Juru and Sungai Dua toll plazas in Penang has reached 42.17 per cent physical completion as of 18 September.
Works Ministry Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim reviewed the project’s progress while chairing the Special Project Steering Committee (Task Force) Meeting No. 9/2026 on Friday.
The meeting examined key aspects of the project, including construction progress, utility relocation, land management, procurement and financing.
PLUS Malaysia Berhad has also implemented mitigation measures aimed at accelerating work at the project site.

The Works Ministry (KKR), Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), PLUS Malaysia Berhad and other relevant agencies will continue coordinating and monitoring the project to ensure efficient implementation.
The project is intended to improve traffic flow, user convenience and connectivity in Penang.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Works Ministry, the project forms part of efforts under the Malaysia MADANI aspirations and MYJalan initiative to deliver quality, high-impact infrastructure. – The Capital Post
