Communications Ministry, Star Media Group Explore Strategic Collaboration

PUTRAJAYA, 23 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Communications and Star Media Group (SMG) have explored opportunities for strategic collaboration in communications, media and the creative industries.

Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil received a courtesy visit from an SMG delegation led by Group Chief Executive Officer Chan Seng Fatt and Chief Operating Officer Lydia Wang Cheng Choo at Menara Komunikasi on 22 September.

The meeting included discussions on SMG’s latest developments and initiatives, as well as the ministry’s current priorities and strategic direction.

Both sides also explored potential areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s communications, media and creative industry ecosystem.

The ministry said it remains open to views and proposals from industry players as part of efforts to ensure the country’s media and creative sectors remain sustainable and competitive.

Also present were Strategic and Corporate Communications Division Secretary Naim Fahmi Tajuddin, Content Development Division Secretary YM Dr Tunku Latifah Tunku Ahmad, and Department of Information Malaysia Deputy Director-General (Digital Content) Wan Saidatul Shafina Mohd Amin.
