PUTRAJAYA, 23 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has intensified its focus on development project performance and preparations for 2027, with agencies urged to ensure projects are ready for timely implementation.
The ministry’s Development Action Committee (JTPK) Meeting No. 9/2026, chaired by NRES Secretary-General Datuk Wira Anis Rizana binti Mohd Zainudin on 22 September, reviewed the implementation performance of development projects, expenditure progress and intervention measures.
The meeting stressed the need for immediate action and clear solutions to issues identified, including assigning responsible officers and setting timelines to ensure decisions translate into measurable progress.

In preparation for projects scheduled for implementation in 2027, departments under the ministry were also urged to strengthen project readiness, including defining project scopes, developing procurement strategies, preparing documentation and establishing implementation schedules.
NRES said the measures are aimed at enabling projects to commence in a more organised and timely manner while ensuring allocated funds are utilised effectively.
Also present were Deputy Secretary-General (Environmental Sustainability) Datuk Nor Yahati binti Awang, Senior Division Secretary (Management) Dato’ Muhammad Ammir bin Haron, heads of departments under NRES and representatives from the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, Ministry of Economy, Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, Jabatan Kerja Raya and Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Malaysia.
