KLUANG, 30 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The IPR-INTAN TKPM Kluang modern agriculture project has generated RM1.618 million in total sales as part of efforts to help lower-income participants build sustainable livelihoods through productive economic activities.
Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah Haji Mohd Nasir visited the project during a working visit to Kluang. The initiative is implemented by IRDA together with Chin Sam Chiap Sdn. Bhd. under the People’s Income Initiative (IPR).
Operating on a 7.13-acre site, the project focuses on fertigation chilli cultivation as well as leafy vegetables including mustard greens, lettuce and water spinach.
The project is targeting 25 participants, with an income target of RM2,000 a month for each participant.
As of 31 August 2026, it had produced 99,864.1 kilogrammes of chillies and 339,749.9 kilogrammes of leafy vegetables, generating total sales of RM1.618 million.

The Ministry of Economy said the success of IPR is not measured solely by production and sales, but also by participants’ ability to develop skills, manage production and marketing activities, and build the capabilities needed to become competitive entrepreneurs.
The longer-term objective is to enable participants to establish their own businesses, become financially independent and reduce continued reliance on assistance.
