JOHOR BAHRU, 4 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has reviewed progress on the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Reptile House at Zoo Johor as part of efforts to improve tourism facilities.
MOTAC Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Surrendren Sathasivam led a monitoring visit to the zoo on 2 October to assess implementation of the rehabilitation, conservation, renovation and upgrading project.
The project was approved by MOTAC in 2026 under the PPUN allocation.
The Local Government Division of the Johor State Secretary’s Office is serving as the implementing agency responsible for upgrading facilities at the Reptile House.

The visit also provided a platform for MOTAC and the implementing agency to coordinate project execution and ensure the works proceed smoothly and meet the intended objectives.
Also present were the Johor MOTAC director, representatives from MOTAC’s Infrastructure Development Division, the Local Government Division of the Johor State Secretary’s Office and other relevant officials.
