PETALING JAYA: After some earlier delays, the special Covid-19 aid (BKC) for the hardcore poor, B40 and M40 will be channeled to recipients from Sept 6, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today.

In a statement, Ismail said some RM3.1 billion had been channelled to banking institutions today for Phase 1 of the special aid payout.

He noted that the special aid was supposed to be handed out to recipients in August.

“The crediting process for Phase 1 will start on Sept 6 and is expected to be completed on Sept 10. BKC will benefit 10 million recipients from the hardcore poor, B40 and M40 as well as eligible singles,” he said.-FMT
