SEREMBAN, 30 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the BAKAT MADANI initiative, a national effort aimed at strengthening talent development and expanding access to quality employment opportunities for Malaysians.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Kewangan, the launch was held at d’Tempat Country Club in Sendayan and attended by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican.
BAKAT MADANI brings together Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs), Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and PETRONAS to enhance the country’s talent ecosystem by creating more opportunities for skills development, quality employment and greater social mobility.

The initiative focuses on three key areas: improving employability and career placement within the GLIC, GLC and PETRONAS ecosystem; expanding employment opportunities across strategic sectors; and strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions through closer collaboration with industry to produce a future-ready workforce.
More than 700 guests, including Cabinet ministers, ministry secretaries-general, leaders of GLICs, GLCs and PETRONAS, as well as programme beneficiaries from across the country, attended the launch.
The Ministry of Finance said BAKAT MADANI aims to benefit 25,000 individuals within a year from mid-2026 through skills development programmes, quality employment opportunities and initiatives to improve social mobility. – The Capital Post.
