KOTA KINABALU, 30 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 38 trade unions in Sabah have received RM310,000 in grants under the 2026 Trade Union Affairs Programme (PHEKS) to strengthen organisational governance, leadership development and members’ skills.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Manusia, the grant presentation ceremony was officiated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman.
Also in attendance were Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and State Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick, Human Resources Ministry Development, Finance and Human Resources Division Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Firdaus Baharuddin, and Malaysia Department of Trade Union Affairs Deputy Director-General Anita Ahmad.

The grants will support programmes focused on enhancing organisational governance, developing leadership capabilities and improving the competency and skills of trade union members across the state.
The ministry said the initiative reflects the MADANI Government’s commitment to empowering trade unions as strategic partners in safeguarding workers’ welfare, strengthening harmonious industrial relations and supporting the development of a skilled, productive and competitive workforce. – The Capital Post.
