SHAH ALAM 27 March 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government will convene a special briefing involving state leaders and political party representatives next week to address developments surrounding the Middle East crisis.
He said the session, to be conducted by the National Security Council (MKN) and the National Economic Action Council (MTEN), aims to coordinate strategies to safeguard national security and ensure economic stability amid ongoing global uncertainties.
According to Anwar, Malaysia’s current situation remains under control, with no immediate need for fuel rationing and no sudden increase in RON95 petrol prices. He added that supply is expected to remain stable at least until May, with continuous monitoring in place.

Commenting on calls from the opposition for a special parliamentary sitting to debate the issue, he said such a move would only be considered after clearer plans are formulated following discussions with state leaders.
The initiative reflects the government’s proactive approach in preparing a unified national response to the evolving crisis in the Middle East, which has raised concerns over global energy supply and economic stability.-The Capital Post
