SINGAPORE 27 March 2026 (The Capital Post) – Police have issued a warning to the public over a phishing scam involving WhatsApp messages impersonating postal service provider Singapore Post (SingPost), which falsely claim that parcel deliveries have failed due to incomplete address details.
Authorities said victims receive messages prompting them to click on a link to update their information and arrange for redelivery. However, the link leads to a fraudulent website designed to steal sensitive information such as banking credentials, card details, and one-time passwords (OTPs).
Since March 15, at least 10 cases have been reported, with total losses amounting to no less than S$22,000. Victims typically only realise they have been scammed after discovering unauthorised transactions in their bank accounts.

Police advised the public to ignore suspicious links sent via messaging platforms and stressed that SingPost does not request payments or personal banking details through WhatsApp or SMS. Users are also encouraged to verify suspicious messages through official channels and avoid sharing confidential information online.
Members of the public are urged to report any fraudulent activity to their banks immediately and lodge a police report, as authorities continue efforts to combat the rising threat of online scams targeting unsuspecting victims.-The Capital Post
