KUALA LUMPUR, 20 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil attended the FIFA World Cup 2026 final screening between Spain and Argentina during the Fiesta Piala Dunia x Unity Merdeka 2026 at Dataran Merdeka.
Organised by the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (RTM) in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Yayasan Prihatin, the event celebrated the world’s biggest football tournament while promoting national unity ahead of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 celebrations.
Also present were Director-General of the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia Ashwad Ismail, Director-General of the Department of Information Malaysia Erwin Khairul Ahmad and Kuala Lumpur Police Chief CP Datuk Fadil Haji Marsus.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Komunikasi, the programme was organised to strengthen unity among Malaysians through sports in conjunction with the upcoming National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. – The Capital Post.
