KUALA LUMPUR, 8 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — foodpanda Malaysia has launched its latest nationwide campaign, “Wajib Try Ni!”, aimed at highlighting local food gems and supporting small independent food vendors across the country.

The campaign seeks to encourage Malaysians to rediscover neighbourhood favourites while helping traditional eateries, kopitiams and homegrown brands gain greater visibility in the growing digital economy.

According to foodpanda Malaysia, the initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting local vendors while promoting Malaysia’s rich and diverse food culture through meaningful food discoveries.

Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia, Kenneth Soh, said the campaign is designed to ensure local food businesses continue to remain relevant and visible as consumers increasingly rely on digital platforms for convenience.

He said “Wajib Try Ni!” is not only about delivering meals but also about connecting Malaysians to the stories, heritage and passion behind every local dish.

The campaign officially begins in Penang, a city widely recognised for its vibrant food culture and culinary heritage.

Among the featured vendors is Nasi Lemak Ciksue, founded by Sue, who continues her family’s 70-year culinary legacy through recipes passed down from her late mother. Popular menu items include the Nasi Lemak Ayam Bakar and Nasi Kerabu Harimau Menangis.

Also featured is Ikat Tepi Kopitiam, known for its nostalgic local dishes and kopitiam-style offerings. The business shared that joining foodpanda helped expand its customer reach while increasing awareness of its brand among new customers.

Meanwhile, Frank Laurent Coffee Roasters highlighted how the platform has enabled the café to reach a broader audience while maintaining the quality and consistency of its beverages through innovative brewing technology.

As part of the campaign, foodpanda Malaysia will roll out curated food discovery content featuring local eateries and culinary stories from different regions nationwide through its social media platforms.– The Capital Post
