Geopark management course strengthens governance and conservation skills

PUTRAJAYA, 22 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The second day of the 2026 Geotapak and Geopark Management and Governance Enhancement Course continued with three knowledge-sharing sessions focusing on effective geopark management and governance.

The morning session, titled “Geopark Components”, was delivered by Mustadza bin Mazni from JMG NSM, providing participants with an overview of the key components involved in the formation of a geopark.

This was followed by a midday session titled “Geoguide: Roles & Functions”, presented by Atilia binti Bashardin from JMG KPPP, which explored the role of geoguides in delivering information related to geopark heritage.

The afternoon session, “Management of Kinta Valley Geopark”, was conducted by Ain Maisyara binti Yazrol from PTN Perak, who shared approaches to managing and preserving the natural and geological heritage of Kinta Valley Geopark.

The course is aimed at strengthening participants’ understanding and skills to support effective and sustainable geopark management.
