KUALA LUMPUR, 29 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) conducted a dialogue session on the memorandum regarding the recognition of Orang Asli customary land and customary territories across Peninsular Malaysia with representatives from the Orang Asli community and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The session was held on 28 July 2026 at the Patawali Meeting Room, JAKOA Headquarters, and was chaired by YBhg. Datuk Abdul Kahar bin Abdullah, Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
The dialogue discussed matters related to the memorandum submitted on 12 June 2026 to KKDW, including further explanations on land-related issues involving the Orang Asli community.
The session also provided a platform for engagement between relevant stakeholders to exchange views and strengthen understanding regarding matters concerning Orang Asli land rights.

Also present were JAKOA’s senior management, representatives from State Land and Mines Offices (PTG), legal advisers, NGOs and representatives of the Orang Asli community.
