KDN engages MPs on key reforms, prison amendment bill

Putrajaya, 24 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has held a meeting with Members of Parliament appointed as Friends of Ministry (FOM) to discuss current developments and the ministry’s strategic direction.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), the session was chaired by Home Minister, YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail.

Among the matters discussed were the implementation of ongoing KDN initiatives, strategic planning for the ministry, as well as the proposed Prisons (Amendment) Bill 2026, which is expected to be tabled in Parliament in the near future.

The engagement also served as a platform for the exchange of views and feedback between the ministry and MPs, in line with the role of the Friends of Ministry (FOM) mechanism as a bridge between public voices and policy formulation processes.

KDN said the close cooperation with Members of Parliament is expected to strengthen government efforts in ensuring that policies and programmes deliver positive impact to the people. – The Capital Post
