KKDW KSU Visits GIATMARA Sepanggar to Review Hands-On Training Programmes

SEPANGGAR, SABAH, Monday 15 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Suriani binti Dato Ahmad, continued her working visit to GIATMARA Sepanggar to observe the implementation of full-time training programmes and short-term courses (SCT) currently being conducted.

According to information shared via the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (Ministry of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia), the visit provided an opportunity for the KSU to be briefed on ongoing training activities and to engage directly with trainees and instructors on the ground.

During the visit, she was taken through several training facilities including the Cooking and Waiter Service Workshop, Basic Barista Course at GEMERSIK COFFEE, and the Confectionery and Bakery (CNB) Workshop. She also took part in a hands-on session, where she tried her hand at producing latte art alongside course participants.

The delegation later attended a brief briefing session led by Ahmad Hamdi bin Ibrahim, who presented updates on programme implementation and skills development initiatives at GIATMARA.

The visit concluded with a meet-and-greet session between the KSU, trainees, and staff of GIATMARA Sabah, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen skills training and enhance employability among rural communities – The Capital Post
