KOTA KINABALU, 28 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) is strengthening monitoring and coordination of the Pan Borneo Highway (LPB) Sabah project to ensure the strategic infrastructure development remains on track.
KKR Secretary-General Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim chaired the ninth LPB Sabah Project Implementation Taskforce Committee Meeting for 2026 at the Sabah Federal Secretary’s Office in Kota Kinabalu on Monday.
The meeting reviewed the project’s current implementation status, including physical progress, site-related issues and challenges, as well as proposed solutions and follow-up actions requiring coordination among relevant stakeholders.
KKR said the taskforce serves as an important platform for addressing implementation issues in an integrated manner while strengthening coordination between ministries, implementing agencies, contractors and other parties involved in the project.
The ministry said it would continue enhancing monitoring and coordination at all levels to ensure the Pan Borneo Highway Sabah project remains aligned with its implementation targets.

The project is also expected to strengthen connectivity, transport links and socioeconomic development across Sabah.
Also present were Sabah Ministry of Works and Utilities Permanent Secretary Datuk Ridhwan Linus @ Roger Linus, Ministry of Finance Government Procurement Division Secretary Datin Rosni binti Mohd Yusoff, Sabah Public Works Department Director Baharuhom bin K.K. Sogon, as well as senior officials and representatives from federal and state ministries and departments.
