PUTRAJAYA, 23 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) will prepare a comprehensive report to identify the causes of delays affecting development projects in several states, following growing public concern over late project completion.
Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said the directive was issued during a post-Cabinet meeting of the ministry, where discussions focused on current issues involving KKR and its agencies, as well as findings from his recent working visits to Kelantan and Sabah.
He said one of the key issues highlighted during the meeting was the continued delay in the implementation of projects at the state level.
Nanta said he had personally reviewed public comments and feedback on social media regarding several delayed or “sick” projects, noting that concerns raised by the public must be taken seriously.
He instructed the ministry to prepare a detailed report covering the status of affected projects, the factors contributing to the delays, and immediate solutions that can be implemented to address the issues.

According to Nanta, every delayed project has a direct impact on communities awaiting the completion of public facilities and infrastructure.
He added that KKR will continue to strengthen project monitoring, enhance accountability and ensure that issues raised by the public are translated into concrete action.
