KPM Allocates RM200,000 for SMK Berangan Maintenance

KAMPUNG BUNUT SARANG BURONG, 4 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Education (KPM) has allocated RM200,000 for maintenance works at SMK Berangan as part of efforts to strengthen education facilities and support the surrounding community.

KPM Secretary-General Dato’ Wan Hashim bin Wan Rahim announced the allocation while officiating the closing ceremony of the 2026 Santuni MADANI programme at SMK Berangan on 3 October.

The Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung (Santuni MADANI) programme serves as a platform for government leaders to engage directly with communities, understand residents’ needs and identify local issues and development potential.

During the programme, Wan Hashim also presented various contributions to the school and local community, including laptops, a smart board, tablets, reading materials, Diploma in Nursing scholarships, food baskets and motorcycle helmets.

KPM said the initiative is aimed at strengthening ties between educational institutions and their surrounding communities while ensuring that development benefits reach residents directly.

The programme also provided an opportunity for the ministry to better understand community needs and explore ways to improve local wellbeing through closer engagement.
