KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is still studying allegations of corruption or power abuse related to the 101 projects allegedly awarded through direct negotiations during the administration of the Pakatan Harapan government.

Its chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki said that the MACC had yet to open any investigation papers into those projects.
He explained that the MACC’s role was to investigate corruption and power abuse, adding that neither issue was raised in Parliament.
“We haven’t opened any investigation papers yet because it is not easy to identify the companies involved.
“So, I don’t want to comment much.

“What has been disclosed in Parliament is something (allegedly) done by the Pakatan government previously, that is all.
“So we’re still studying the projects and I cannot comment in detail, ” he told reporters at the “Corporate Liability – Are You At Risk” forum here on Tuesday (Sept 15).
On Aug 24, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz told the Dewan Rakyat that former finance minister Lim Guan Eng had approved a total of 101 projects worth RM6.61bil through direct negotiations during the Pakatan administration.
