JOHOR, 4 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has reviewed progress on a RM20 million infrastructure upgrade at Johor National Park Pulau Kukup as part of efforts to improve visitor facilities and support sustainable ecotourism.
MOTAC Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Surrendren Sathasivam led a monitoring visit on 2 October to the project involving the upgrading and rehabilitation of the main jetty and Sungai Ular bridge.
The project is being implemented by Perbadanan Taman Negara Johor (PTNJ) as a continuation project under Rolling Plan 4 of the 12th Malaysia Plan and is expected to be completed in 2029.
The monitoring visit focused on project progress, compliance with the approved scope, allocation and implementation timeline, as well as safety, visitor comfort and overall tourism experience.

The delegation later visited Dataran Penghujung Benua Asia at Johor National Park Tanjung Piai to inspect tourism facilities and infrastructure and identify potential areas for improvement.
MOTAC said the visit also strengthened coordination with PTNJ to ensure tourism infrastructure development is carried out in line with the project’s objectives.
