BANDAR BARU BANGI, 29 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has strengthened engagement with business and industry groups to advance Malaysia’s green growth and sustainability agenda.
The “Sesi Teh Tarik” engagement, led by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), brought together representatives from chambers of commerce, industry associations and related organisations at the MGTC Resource Centre. MGTC is based in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor.
The session was chaired by NRES Secretary-General Datuk Wira Anis Rizana binti Mohd Zainudin and provided a platform for government and private-sector representatives to exchange views, build networks and explore potential areas of cooperation.
Discussions covered key areas including green technology, the circular economy and climate change, while allowing business and industry representatives to highlight their priorities and challenges.
The engagement also focused on strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting Malaysia’s transition towards a greener and more sustainable economy.

Among those present were American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Siobhan Das; Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing Circular Economy and Environmental Management Committee Deputy Chairman Gobinathan Kumaran Nair; Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies Executive Chairman Sofiyan Yahya; and Executive Director Karen Fairclough-Ng.
Senior officials and representatives from various chambers of commerce, industry associations and related organisations also participated in the session.
