KUALA LUMPUR, 21 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of RM140 million under the Indian Entrepreneur Capital and Economic Plan (MUDRA) had been channelled to nearly 6,000 Indian entrepreneurs as of August 2026, according to Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister YB Encik Steven Sim Chee Keong.
The amount represents part of the RM220 million allocation provided under MUDRA to support the development of Indian entrepreneurs.
Steven Sim shared the latest figures while officiating the MAICCI Entrepreneur Summit 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, which brought together entrepreneurs and industry players to strengthen the Indian entrepreneurship ecosystem.
During the event, the minister also presented financing cheques to recipients of the Indian Entrepreneur Development Scheme (SPUMI), symbolising KUSKOP’s efforts to widen access to financing.

Agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), including the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM), SME Bank, Bank Rakyat, SME Corp. Malaysia, TEKUN Nasional and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), also operated service booths at the summit.
The booths provided participants with information on available financing products, facilities and entrepreneurship support.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, KUSKOP will continue expanding access to financing, guidance and entrepreneurship support to help businesses grow and strengthen their competitiveness. – The Capital Post
