“The Selangor government has been following the current developments related to the increase of Covid-19 cases.

“The cumulative local cases now number 2,007, including 13 new cases in Selangor,” said Selangor youth generation development, sports and human capital development committee chairman Mohd Khairuddin Othman (pic) in a press statement Thursday (Oct 1).

“The increasing number of positive cases over the past few weeks has raised concerns among many parties.”

Based on the advice and views of the Selangor Health Department and Selangor Task Force Covid-19, Mohd Khairuddin said the job fair programme, scheduled for Oct 3 and 4 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre, has been postponed to an undetermined date.

He noted that this weekend’s event had recorded 8,150 online registrations and thanked all parties involved in organising the event, particularly JobsMalaysia Selangor.

The Selangor Mega Job Fair 2020 and district career carnivals were supposed to be held in nine locations across the state in October, with the aim to address unemployment following the Covid-19 pandemic and movement control order.

It was not stated if the district career carnivals, scheduled to kick off in Kuala Selangor on Oct 10 and end in Sabak Bernam on Dec 13 would be postponed or rescheduled. -The Star
