PUTRAJAYA, 18 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Strategic collaboration between Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) continues to be strengthened through the implementation of the Malay Language Standard Framework (KSBM) in efforts to produce holistic graduates who are proficient in language while preserving national identity and cultural roots.

The commitment was highlighted by Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) of KPT, Ahmad Rizal Adnan, during the officiation of the 2026 Malay Language Standard Framework (KSBM) Professional Discourse held at Dewan Za’ba, Ministry of Higher Education.

According to him, KPT remains committed to supporting DBP as a strategic partner in elevating Bahasa Melayu as the primary medium of knowledge delivery within the country’s higher education ecosystem.

He said that through the KSBM platform, which received Cabinet recognition on 4 March 2026, both parties would work closely in areas including joint research, curriculum enhancement and the development of high-impact communication training programmes.

Ahmad Rizal added that while the mastery of foreign languages is strongly encouraged, maintaining the quality and standard of the national language remains a key priority in shaping an educated and competitive society.

He noted that the integrated effort is expected to further strengthen the role of Bahasa Melayu as a platform for nation-building while adapting to the evolving challenges of globalisation.
