KOTA KINABALU, 10 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Education’s Islamic Education Division has intensified preparations for the implementation of the School Curriculum 2027 (KP2027) through a curriculum dissemination workshop involving educators from Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Held from 8 to 11 June in Kota Kinabalu, the workshop brought together 353 Master Trainers representing 24 District Education Offices (PPD) across Sabah and Labuan, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition towards the new curriculum framework.
According to a Facebook post by Bahagian Pendidikan Islam KPM, participants demonstrated a high level of readiness and commitment throughout the programme, which focused on the implementation of Islamic Education for Year One and Form One students.
The workshop also included sessions on Special Islamic Education for Year One and Form One, conducted by the Curriculum Development Division (BPK) as part of efforts to strengthen inclusive learning approaches under the new curriculum.
During the programme, Master Trainers received detailed guidance and curriculum documents from National Master Trainers to enhance their understanding of the new curriculum, which has been designed to be more inclusive, relevant and meaningful for students.

The trainers will subsequently be responsible for disseminating the curriculum framework and implementation guidelines to teachers within their respective districts, ensuring consistency in delivery nationwide.
Beyond knowledge-sharing, the workshop served as a platform to foster collaboration and professional engagement among educators in support of efforts to enhance educational quality and optimise the potential of every student.
