PORT DICKSON, 24 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the MADANI Government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s defence capabilities while ensuring the welfare of members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and their families remains a top priority.
During a visit to the Army Basic Training Centre (PUSASDA) in Port Dickson, Anwar said the visit was an opportunity to express appreciation to ATM personnel for their unwavering dedication in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, peace and prosperity.
He said the government would continue enhancing the nation’s defence readiness by upgrading military assets and capabilities, while also improving welfare, facilities and support for armed forces personnel and their families.
Anwar noted that this commitment is reflected in the MADANI Budget 2026, under which the Ministry of Defence received its highest-ever allocation of RM21.7 billion, up from RM16.1 billion in 2022, representing an increase of about 35 per cent.
