KUALA LUMPUR: Five people were trapped after an elevator fell from the fifth floor of the Taman Batu Permai Flat in Jinjang here.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy said the victims – three adults and two children – were rescued with the assistance of other residents in the 2pm incident on Friday (Sept 18).
“The three adults suffered bruises and sprained ankles.

“All five were brought to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment and check-ups,” he said when contacted.
The company staff in charge of the elevator went to the flat to ascertain the cause of the incident, he added.
“This is the first time such an incident occurred as the elevator has always been maintained on schedule,” he said. -The Star
