KUALA LUMPUR, 9 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) is expanding access to skills training and employment opportunities for youths in Pasir Salak as part of efforts to reduce rural-to-urban migration and strengthen local economic development.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan said the initiative was outlined during his oral reply in the Dewan Rakyat to a question on measures to widen access to skills training and job matching for youths in the Pasir Salak parliamentary constituency.

Through the Department of Skills Development (JPK), KESUMA currently provides training via 1,661 accredited centres under the Accredited Programme Training System (SLaPB) nationwide, including 157 centres in Perak and six in Pasir Salak. Youths are also able to enrol in modular programmes based on the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) and obtain certification through the Recognition of Prior Achievement (PPT) scheme.

To strengthen industry-based training, the ministry is also expanding the Industry Academy Programme (ADI), which now comprises 1,676 accredited centres nationwide, including 109 in Perak and two in Pasir Salak. The programme provides trainees with practical exposure at industry premises based on employers’ requirements to enhance graduate employability.

Graduates will be assisted in securing employment through the MYFutureJobs platform, creating more job opportunities within their local communities.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Manusia, the ministry remains committed to strengthening workforce development by expanding access to quality skills training and improving employment opportunities across the country. – The Capital Post.
