TAWAU, 23 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Education (KPM) has reviewed school development projects and preparations for next year’s Year One intake during an official working visit to Tawau, Sabah.
KPM Secretary-General Dato’ Wan Hashim bin Wan Rahim led the visit, accompanied by Deputy Secretary-General (Planning and Development) Dato’ Dr. Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian.
The visit included an engagement session with District Education Officers from across Sabah, focusing on development, maintenance and management matters, as well as preparations to receive Year One pupils from the six-year-old cohort for the next school session.
As part of the programme, Wan Hashim also inspected three Malaysia Plan (RMK) project sites being implemented by Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Malaysia.

The sites were SK Tanjong Batu, SMK Tawau II and SK Melodi Apas Jaya.
KPM expressed its appreciation to Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) Sabah and Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Tawau for their cooperation and coordination throughout the working visit.
