KSU KKM gathers health service feedback from southern zone

PASIR GUDANG, 19 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) held a Meet-and-Greet and Dialogue Session with its Secretary-General at Pasir Gudang Hospital, Johor, today.

The session served as a two-way communication platform between KKM’s top management and health service leaders from the Southern Zone, comprising Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.

It provided an avenue to gather feedback, views and suggestions on current issues, challenges and needs in delivering healthcare services.

Among the issues discussed were the procurement of new medical equipment for hospitals, upgrading facilities at the Forensic Medicine Department, health digitalisation at KKM facilities, emergency call management, specialist training for doctors and hospital staffing.

KKM Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam bin Hj. Ahmad said the issues were important to assess in understanding the actual needs of KKM facilities and ensuring the ministry’s planning and actions could be implemented more effectively in line with current healthcare service requirements.

Also present were Pasir Gudang Hospital Director YBrs. Dr. Suhaila binti Abu Hassan; Melaka Hospital Director YBrs. Dr. Shahrum bin Muzakir @ Lokman Arshad; Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital Director YBrs. Dr. Noor Fakhrul Azman bin Mohd Ali; Nuclear Medicine Specialist at Sultanah Aminah Hospital YBrs. Dr. Ng Chen Siew; Southern Zone hospital directors; National Heads of Specialty; National Heads of Subspecialty; Southern Zone District Health Officers; and Southern Zone District Dental Health Officers.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA, the dialogue aims to strengthen communication between KKM management and healthcare leaders while ensuring service planning remains aligned with the needs of healthcare facilities. – The Capital Post
