KANGAR, 16 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Jabatan Keselamatan Dalam Negeri dan Ketenteraman Awam (KDNKA) Director CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hj. Hassan Basri witnessed the handover ceremony for the Perlis Police Chief post at the Perlis Contingent Police Headquarters here yesterday.
The handover took place between CP Dato’ Muhammad Abdul Halim and SAC Zaihairul Idrus, who will assume the role of acting Perlis Police Chief.
Dato’ Muhammad has been entrusted by the PDRM leadership with a new responsibility as Deputy Director (Operations/Movement), Jabatan KDNKA Bukit Aman.
The ceremony also included the handover of the Chairperson of the Perlis Contingent Police Family Association (PERKEP) post between Datin Rosita Mohd Khair and the new chairperson, Puan Jamia’ah Parmin.

The event was also attended by heads of departments within the Perlis Contingent, district police chiefs and formation commanders, PERKEP members and members of the media.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Polis Perlis, the ceremony marked the transition of leadership for the Perlis Police Chief post and the PERKEP Perlis chairperson. – The Capital Post
