KUALA LUMPUR, 16 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has officiated the Malaysia Palm Carbon Conference (MPCC), aimed at strengthening the role of the palm oil industry in Malaysia’s emerging carbon market.

The conference, held at Menara FELDA, brought together industry players, technical experts, researchers and policymakers to discuss the potential of carbon credits in the palm oil sector and its contribution towards the country’s sustainability and low-carbon transition agenda.

It was officiated by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Dato’ Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup.

In his keynote address, Arthur emphasised the implementation of the National Climate Change Policy 2.0 (DPIN 2.0) as a key driver of national climate action, including the introduction of the National Carbon Market Policy (DPKK) and the drafting of the National Climate Change Bill (RUUPIN) to strengthen governance and integrity in the carbon market.
